What these projects involved
Finished-work photos rarely show the decisions that made the room work. These are the ones that came up most often.
Kitchens
Most of the kitchens above kept their existing layout — sink, hob and plumbing stayed where they were, which is the single biggest saving available on a kitchen renovation. What changed was the cupboards, the tops, the hardware and the storage inside. Where a client wanted a premium look on a working budget, we split finishes: sprayed or wood-grain fronts on the run you see from the living area, plain melamine in the scullery behind. Wardrobes and dressing rooms
The wardrobes shown here are 600mm deep, because that's what a clothes hanger needs. Several use two stacked short-hang rails instead of one long-hang section, which roughly doubles hanging capacity in the same width — the most effective change we make to most wardrobe designs. Sliding doors appear where the bed sits close to the wardrobe wall and a hinged door would have been unusable. Awkward spaces
A good share of the work above exists because a standard-size unit couldn't have been used: sloped ceilings in loft conversions, runs that had to bridge over a window, corners that weren't square, and older Johannesburg and Pretoria walls out by 20 or 30mm across a run. Those are scribed — the carcass built true, the face panel cut to follow the wall — which is why the cupboards read as part of the house rather than furniture pushed against it.
Before and after
The before-and-after sliders above are the same room photographed from the same position. Nothing structural moved in either of them. That's worth knowing if your own kitchen or bedroom looks tired but functions fine — the transformation is usually a surface and storage problem, not a building problem. About our work
Yes. Every project shown is designed, manufactured and installed by PZN Designs in Gauteng. We don't subcontract manufacturing or installation, so the work in these photographs came out of our own workshop and was fitted by our own team.
Where a past client is willing, we're happy to arrange it — seeing finished work in a real house tells you far more than a photograph. We can also bring physical door, board and hardware samples to your free site measurement so you can handle the actual materials.
Kitchens in this gallery typically fall between R70,000 and R175,000 for cupboards and tops, and bedroom wardrobe walls between R17,500 and R53,000. The variables are size, finish and internals. Our kitchen price guide and cupboard price guide break those ranges down properly.
Two to four weeks in manufacturing after design approval, then one to two days on site for wardrobes and cabinetry, or two to five days for a full kitchen. Stone countertops are templated on the fitted units and returned about a week later, so kitchens run slightly longer end to end.
